APIC Greater NY Chapter 13 convenes on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (except July and August) at Lenox Hill Hospital, in the Michael S. Bruno, MD Presentation Room - 1st Floor, 130 East 77th Street, NY NY 10075.

     1:30 pm Board of Directors Meeting (for board members)
     2:30 pm Education Program (open to all, members & guests)
     3:30 pm Membership Meeting (open to all, members & guests)

June 20, 2012 - CAUTI:  Reform, Reimbursement, Refocus -- will be given by Kimberlee J. Souhrada MM BSN, Clinical Specialist, Rochester Medical Corp. - at Lenox Hill Hospital - 2:30 pm - Presentation Room. Lunch will be served, courtesy of Rep Ellie Gallardo of Rochester Medical.

May 16, 2012 - Antimicrobial Stewardship-Working Together to Improve Prescribing -- was given by Belinda Ostrowsky, MD, Attending Physician, Division of Infectious Diseases, Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY.

April 18, 2012 - How to Lower The Risk of an Infection in Total Joint Replacement was presented by Calin Stefan Moucha MD, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, NY.

March 21, 2012 - No More White Gloves - Monitoring Cleaning was presented by Mario Perella of 3M. He shared great info about the latest technologies in validating environmental cleaning and disinfection in a healthcare setting.

February 15, 2012 - At our February meeting, chapter members Elsa Santon-Cruz BS CIC and Adebisi Adeyeye RN MPH CIC shared important updates from recent NHSN training they received in Atlanta.

January 18, 2012 - We had three poster and oral presentations from the 2011 National APIC & SHEA conferences featuring our chapter members:  Larry Colbert BA MA CIC - Norovirus Outbreak     Angela Gabasan RN MSN CIC - SSIs after Colon Surgery    and Kate Gase MPH CIC -  The State of C.difficile in NYS - where she reviewed three separate posters (one, two, three).
